Lead Kindergarten Teacher for our early childhood program for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.
We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, imaginative, nurturing person to join our group of early childhood teachers who oversee the holding of 4-6 year-old children; a creative teacher who speaks to the children in imaginative pictures, who has a connection with nature and who is not averse to rainy weather! We are seeking a teacher who can establish a healthy rhythm with warmth and joy.
Established in 1980, our school has deep roots in the local community and provides a comprehensive Waldorf education to students in preschool through eighth grade. Our four-acre campus is nestled in the southwest hills of Eugene, Oregon which is a vibrant, artistic, and eco-conscious community. Eugene is located at the south end of the Willamette Valley with a rich cultural life and offers an abundance of natural beauty and outdoor recreation in the Pacific Northwest.
Lead teacher applicants are required to have a Waldorf teacher training certificate and lead teaching experience. We value the additional education of a bachelor’s degree. They should have excellent communication skills, work collegially and be enthusiastic about parent education. First Grade Teacher/Lead Grades Teacher
The Eugene Waldorf School is seeking an experienced lead grades teacher for the first grade class, for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year. Established in 1980, our school has deep roots in the local community and provides a comprehensive Waldorf education to students in preschool through eighth grade. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, a Waldorf teacher training certificate, and experience teaching in a Waldorf school. They need to be able to pass a fingerprinted background check. In addition to lesson planning and classroom teaching, lead teachers are expected to meet and work with current and prospective parents, hold parent-teacher conferences, and prepare student reports. To support healthy collaboration in the school, each teacher works with a mentor, attends weekly faculty meetings, assists with school events, joins in committee work, and attends ongoing training/professional development.
Compensation depends on education and relevant experience documented in the applicant’s application materials. Substitute Teachers
EWS is looking for substitute teachers for the 24-25 school year for early childhood and grades classes. Must have the ability to pass a fingerprinted background check, or currently be enrolled in the Oregon Central Background Registry. Experience working with children is required. Pediatric first aid/cpr, a food handlers card, and a few other trainings will be required upon hire. Hourly pay is $24.
