Beth Daly

  • Beth was born the youngest of five daughters and spent her early years in rural Minnesota. A life filled with farm animals, gardening, farming, horseback riding, and outdoor meanderings and adventures shaped Beth's love for creatures great and small, interest in plants, cooking, art inspired by the seen and unseen natural world, and a love for the imaginative freedom and wonder of the early childhood years.

Beth pursued the arts and botany in higher education, attending Minnesota State University, Reed College in Portland, Burren College of Arts in Ireland, and Rocky Mountain School for Botanical Studies in Colorado. Beth has owned her own business and has been a home funeral educator, though her main devotions have been as a mother, a Waldorf early childhood educator, and to the meditative arts and storytelling.

Beth received her Waldorf Teacher Training certificate from Waldorf Teacher Education Eugene (WTEE) in 2016, in addition to a certificate in Waldorf Early Childhood Therapeutic and Development Movement in Denver, Colorado. She has been teaching at the Eugene Waldorf School since 2012 and is the Early Childhood Director of Waldorf Teacher Training Eugene.

Sarah Hilvert

  • Sarah spent her early years in a big extended family in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her childhood was full of imaginative play, a love of school, and all the visual and performing arts she could get her hands on. In higher education, she earned a bachelors degree in biology, inspired by a fascination for the stories the living world has to tell us. She then went on to seek out those stories in forests, rivers, cities, farms, and open countryside from one coast of this continent to the other.

Since she made her way to beautiful Oregon, Sarah has enjoyed forming relationships with our human, creatural, and spiritual neighbors. She has studied permaculture, developed a love for storytelling, and taught outdoor school programs through Whole Earth Nature School and Nearby Nature. Sarah encountered anthroposophy during her studies with Waldorf Teacher Education Eugene, where she earned teaching certificates in both Early Childhood and Grades Education. She cherishes teaching as a healing, enlivening art form.

Tammy Betzko

  • After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, Tammy worked with children and families in social work and therapeutic contexts. Finding that these contexts did not always feel respectful to the child, she took time to reset in the forests and waters of Pennsylvania and Vermont, living almost completely outdoors for five years. Upon turning 28 and in search of purpose anew, she found Waldorf Education. Seeing almost immediately that it was a child-centered paradigm, respectful to their nature, she entered the full-time program at Sunbridge College in NY where she completed her MSEd in Waldorf Early Childhood as well as a certification in Biodynamic Agriculture.

Tammy has been teaching in both Waldorf early childhood and grades settings for 13 years. She also deeply values having spent the last 15 years participating in and eventually facilitating energetic, inner-development and trauma work for adults.

Tammy is happily Mama to Eä (pre-school) and Ukiah (8th grade), loving how the three of them simply delight in one another. She is glad and grateful to be joining this community.

Jessica Hin

  • Jessica was born and raised in San Diego, California where she spent most of her days outdoors. She graduated from California State University having studied human development with an emphasis in child development.

After college she moved to Europe where she worked and traveled for a year.

When she returned to San Diego she got a job as a Behavioral Therapist with the YMCA social service department working with elementary school kids.

After having her first child, and reading The Conscious Parent, she became more aware than ever of how important it is to raise children consciously. She was introduced to Waldorf education when she was exploring options for her son who was about to enter kindergarten and knew it was exactly what she wanted for her two children.

She was actively involved in the Waldorf community in San Diego and has a deep passion for working with children. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, being in nature with her two sons, creating community, and staying dedicated to her spiritual practices.
